Building on the foundation in Fashion and Form 1, this continued course offers a deeper understanding in the Fashion Design Process, with emphasis on advanced draping and sewing. Concepts of shape, form and fit are interrogated through a dynamic interplay between 2D methods and 3D experimentation, fostering an exploration of advanced draping techniques in an intuitive and exploratory manner. Working on a progressively elevated level, students expand their investigation into wearable pieces while developing a contextual understanding in fashion design. This is not a technical course, though an introduction to basic patterns principles, garment details and sewing techniques. Students work in both muslin and final fabrics, leading up to a look in 3D and a capsule collection in 2D, with a final studio photo shoot presentation.
