This elective course will explore the notion of developing a collection plan and product ranges in the context of the students’ individual design concept. Furthermore, students will acquire knowledge about the historical and social context of an archetypical garment, understanding and questioning dress and cultural codes in fashion as well as observing and translating fashion heritage in a relevant design concept. Students will start by analyzing an archetype and a product group and will then combine the analytic observation of their research with a personal design vision to communicate and visualize a relevant concept, collection, and design process. Open to: BFA FASHION DESIGN SENIORS + MFA FDA Y2 ONLY Pre-requisite(s): DESIGN STUDIO 4 + SPECIALIZED STUDIO 2.
