Curating Contemporary Art
Parsons Paris: Parsons Paris
CRN: 18159
Credits: 3
This intensive course in collaboration with the Frac Île-de-France - Les Réserves introduces students to curatorial practice through the development of a collective exhibition at Parsons Paris' Galerie 45. Working in dialogue with the Le Frac's collection, students learn how to select, interpret, and present artworks within a broader curatorial framework inspired by the Frac’s current program. In Spring 2027, the course will respond to the bicentennial of photography, exploring the evolving status of images in contemporary art. Students will collaboratively curate an exhibition including 1-3 works from the Frac collection, alongside additional materials, artworks, or interventions developed during the course.
