Parsons Paris: Parsons Paris
CRN: 18326
Credits: 3
How are commercial practices of showing commodities connecting with art and design exhibitions? Are these disciplinary boundaries obsolete today? This course explores the relationship between commercial and artistic spaces in collaboration with the Fondation Cartier in Paris on the occasion of the forthcoming opening of their new headquarters and collection at the former department store of Louvre. Through an intensive project-based course mixing on-site visits, lectures and workshops, students will learn and reflect on the hybridization and interrelations between commercial and artistic display.
