Spring 2025
Taught By: Blair McMillen
Section: A

CRN: 11776

Music Unleashed: Navigating Contemporary Chamber Music will focus on the study and performance of chamber music from the past 125 years, but with an emphasis on the music of today and the recent past. The class will be part performance class, part discussion, and part mock-teaching lab. (Since the art of teaching in front of an audience is a crucial one, students will take turns being the “master:” teaching and coaching one another in a casual public setting.) Everyone is expected to work on at least two chamber pieces through the course of the semester. This course is open to strings, winds, brass, vocalists, and pianists - or by permission from the instructors.
