This course looks at contemporary performance techniques, tools and methodologies for the integration of digital media content in live production environments. The course interweaves principles of sound and projection design concepts into production projects using industry standard software tools and techniques for audio production, image editing, video production, and multimedia playback. Through a series of writing, directing and design projects, students experiment with integration of sound and video projection in a live performance setting. Using digital tools, students focus on concepts of media integration, cueing and sequencing. Concentrating on media integration in live performance, this course also offers students training in programming media and cueing software. Note: Open to non-Drama majors with prior approval from instructor only. Creative Technologies 1 (or equivalent basic training in Audio, Photo and Video Editing) is required to take this course.
