Fall 2024
Taught By: Anthony Coleman
Section: A

This class will deal with approaches to improvisation through listening, analyzing, copying and learning how to collaborate with other artists. This is all part of creating a personal musical process of creation that is basic to becoming an improviser. Practice techniques and tools to access, create & develop a unique musical language by observing, digesting, and finding your masters/models. Listen and analyze compositions that integrate written notation and open improvisations. Analyze and observe how some improvisers use graphic scores, talk about open improvisation and spontaneous use of Sonics.
