This group is devoted to the translation and discussion of philosophical texts in Spanish. The course is suitable for students with reasonably good reading skills who wish to improve their proficiency in reading philosophical works originally written in Spanish, or who need to prepare for the Spanish language exam required by the Philosophy department. Translations will encompass works by Ernesto Laclau, Rosario Ferré, Enrique Dussel, and Aura Estela Cumes, among others, and will touch upon diverse interests and approaches: from decolonial-critical-theory, to Ancient, Analytic, and Continental philosophy produced in Latin America and Spain.
