This seminar explores racism and colonialism through the lens of hauntology. We will consider the significance of the dead, the unborn, inheritance, rememory, ancestors, and ghostly matters for ethics, politics, and critical philosophy of race. You can expect to read across Black feminist, Africana, Indigenous, Anti-Colonial, Abolitionist, and Continental theoretical traditions in conjunction with film and contemporary art.
