The objective of this course is to help students fully understand, and gain the technical skill necessary to express the language of modern jazz harmony on the piano effortlessly. In levels 2-4 students learn how to voice-lead harmony in 4 ways that are characteristic of the piano styles that developed from the bebop era onward. In level 5 the harmonic proficiency students acquire in levels 2-4 become the solid foundation on top of which students learn to improvise.
