This 2 semester core required coursework teaches practice techniques and strategies for instantaneous music making. Skill sets addressed may include but are not limited to: Single line sight reading, sight singing, chord symbol sight reading, sight improvisation, aural imitation/recall, and aural harmony creation. Upon completion of this course work, students are expected to apply weekly these techniques in practice, coursework, and performance. This course work connects to and is supported by JCM Fundamentals, Rhythm, Ensembles, and Private Lesson work. This course is for singer-songwriter concentrations.
