The Laurel Canyon Ensemble is a five-week immersive experience in which students will develop a basic understanding of the "Laurel Canyon Scene" c.1965-75. During this transformative period the record industry relocated to Los Angeles as a multitude of both new and established artists redefined the sound of American popular music. The ensemble performs music by artists such as The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, The Mamas & the Papas, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Judee Sill, Linda Rondstadt, and many others.
