The Noise & Feedback Ensemble is a hands-on learning experience that focuses on the practical performance of sound-mixer based live-electronics. Topics include: no-input feedback, live-mixer routing, live-effects techniques, creative signal flow and non-traditional microphone/speaker methods. The course will also highlight the lineage of artists in the field of experimental sound performance. This 10-week, 2.5hr/week course is open to all improvisation-focused performers and a final performance will be held at the end of the semester. Students are expected to provide their own laptop, microphone and patch cables. Additionally specialized mixer and audio equipment will be provided.
