The Brazilian Ensemble is a performance class that focus on contemporary Brazilian music fused with jazz. In this course students will perform different forms of the samba, baiao, afoxe and maracatu styles among other rhythms and genres of the Brazilian tradition. Repertoire will focus on some of the most important artists of the contemporary music scene as well as traditional samba composers, bossa nova and MPB including, Hermeto Pascoal, Egberto Gismonti, Tom Jobim, Dom Salvador and Joao Bosco among others. By audition, at the instructor's discretion.
