Strategies and innovative ideas are crucial in envisioning a successful business in music. Many musicians graduate with music degrees only to be left anxious, confused and worried in regards to making a living in the competitive music industry. In this class the artists explore creative ways to establish streams of income that help to build a solid foundation for an entrepreneurial business. Areas that will be explored are, preparing for auditions, creating an impressive press package, networking, managers, agents, lawyers and mentors. This course fulfills the Music Business requirement for students majoring in Jazz and Contemporary Music.
