Voice as Instrument Ensemble
Fall 2025
Taught By: Sirintip Phasuk
Section: A

CRN: 18337

Credits: 2

In this ensemble, students will explore the use of electronic instruments and vocal effects pedals to perform songs in a live setting with a rhythm section and background vocals. Students are encouraged to bring in original compositions and/or creative arrangements of existing songs. The focus will be on developing a cohesive ensemble sound, refining performance skills, learning how to communicate effectively with a large ensemble, and expanding your sonic palette with electronics. Students are expected to have basic skills in chart-making, arranging, vocal arranging, and bandleading, as they will be responsible for guiding the ensemble and background vocalists through their musical vision. There is an audition at the top of the semester for this ensemble. This course counts towards vocalists’ Vocal Ensemble requirement.
