For students who have already mastered the basics of screen production work, this course advances through the next level of filmmaking practice. Students will direct three short films, working in rotation with a collaborative crew, and according to individual prompts that are designed to emphasize cinematic storytelling techniques. The course culminates in scene work and the directing of a short film from an assigned script. This course has heavy demands on advanced editing and cinematography skills - it is strongly recommended that students complete both Editing and Cinematography, or have demonstrably commensurate experience, before registering for this course. NOTE: This course is open to Juniors and Seniors in Screen Studies and Culture & Media only. [Track S]
