Credits: 0 TO 1

This course develops performance skills for dance students through rehearsals and performances of a dance work choreographed by a guest artist from the Movement Research Artist-in-Residence program. Students perform the work at the end of the semester in the Lang Dance Performance. Movement Research A.I.R.'s are all artists currently practicing in the field. So by design, this course gives students the opportunity to engage with varied approaches to choreographic research and understandings of the body and of performance, as conceived and employed by some of the field's most adventurous contemporary practitioners. Previous dance experience OR permission of the instructor is required (no audition required). Corequisite: Students must also be enrolled in a Lang Dance movement practice course.
