How can we describe the common features of 'populist nationalist' movements? Are there aspects of economics and politics that can explain why these movements have become prominent? And can we exlplain why they have arisen all around the world at a similar time? What challenges do they face in governing? This course will introduce students to aspects of political economic analysis which may be help to answer these questions.
