Journalism is more than writing news articles, and design is more than how they look on a page. This course (the first of two in the Journalism + Design core sequence) introduces students to fundamentals of 21st-century journalism: interviewing, reporting, audience research, and storytelling in a variety of forms and media. Students also explore other topics, including human-centered design, data, product development, ethics, and journalism as a public service.
