New Approaches to Music Reporting
Eugene Lang College Lib Arts: Eugene Lang
CRN: 15887
Credits: 4
Sound and rhythm belong to a universal language understood at the most basic, instinctual level. How do you write about something you can hear? How do you make a case about something so subjective? And how do music journalists navigate enormous changes in how the industry they cover and the possibilities for publishing their work? In this course, students will explore the landscape of popular music journalism, from Q&A’s, profiles, and criticism to forms that go beyond the written word, including video, podcasts, and social media. This course satisfies the general elective requirement for Journalism + Design majors.
