In this project-based course, students reinterpret the role of the visual journalist and blur boundaries across disciplines to develop a layered practice that allows for deeper communication and understanding of a documentary subject. Students work both independently and as collaborators to collect and most effectively produce still and moving images, sound, text, and more along the theme of "personal political." Students ground their explorations in literature, scholarly articles, and the historical evolution of digital media. This course satisfies the Form Elective requirement for the Journalism + Design major.
