This course will build on skills acquired at the introductory level by asking students to experiment with a range of genres and styles, from noir to horror. The course will require students to read with close attention, analyze the characteristics of a genre, and participate in a wide range of writing exercises. The written component will consist of one full-length story (between 7-10 pages) in one of the genres/styles discussed in class. This full-length story will be workshopped in class and will involve substantial revising. Pre-req of LLSW 2020 Intro Fiction minimum grade of B.

After the first week of the semester, permission of the instructor will be required in order to register for this course.
