Aesthetics of Skateboard
Fall 2025
Taught By: Nathan Fitch
Section: A

CRN: 18117

Credits: 4

Born out of a DIY and innovative approach to the visual production of moving images, skateboard culture has influenced generations of filmmakers and artists, and has a particular grounding in New York City. In this production course, students will explore this history, learn technical production skills through a series of hands-on assignments, and produce short film projects that employ and transfigure these approaches to creating moving image based work. It is strongly recommended that students complete both Editing and Cinematography (taken spring 2025 or prior) or Screen Foundations (taken fall 2025 or later) or have demonstrably commensurate experience prior to registering for this course.
