In this course, students delve into the physical, vocal, and emotional demands of acting Shakespeare. Always mindful that the plays were written for performance, topics for discussion include: the information in the texts for actors and directors; how the verse works and how actors balance the reality of story with Shakespeare's heightened language and demanding characters. Final scenes will have a public performance. This upper-level course is restricted to sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
