This course offers an advanced scene study, focusing on comprehensive character analysis, behavioral exploration, and the cultivation of physicality. Students will enhance their understanding of the body as an acting instrument and further develop their ability to portray diverse characters from The Simpsons and The Sopranos. These two iconic American shows share profound thematic similarities and cultural DNA, dramatizing mob life and family dynamics with unflinching brutality and incisive humor. Through this scene study, students will progress beyond superficial performance by exploring varied interpretive choices, sharpening their impulses, and fostering confidence and creativity throughout the process of discovery and reinvention. This course fulfills an elective for Theater majors and minors.
