Credits: 4
How do you find your unique creative voice in a narrative that’s been imagined by another. In this playwriting course students will explore taking dramatic fiction and or characters that already exist and make them their own. We will read plays based on or inspired by other works, use various writing exercises, discuss and read our own work aloud in class, and by the end of the course, students will have completed the first draft of a one-act play or a few short plays. This course fulfills an elective requirement for Theater majors. No prerequisite.
