A vital part of teaching ESL/EFL is developing and implementing valid tools to assess the levels, needs, goals and progress of one’s students. In this course we examine traditional forms of testing and learn to design alternative forms of assessment. We will explore, design and implement a variety of assessment tools and tasks. We will also become aware of the various forms of self-assessment tools. Finally, we will look at the relationships between assessment, testing, teaching and learning. Prerequisite: Methods and Techniques for Teaching ELLs NELT 0411 Students must be admitted to the Certificate in TESOL program to register.
