Unlock the artistic potential of color grading and visual effects in this immersive course focused on DaVinci Resolve and Fusion. Tailored for emerging media creators, it offers a deep dive into the color grading process, empowering students to manipulate color and light to enhance storytelling and evoke emotion. Through a combination of interactive lectures, practical workshops, and hands-on projects, students will explore RAW and Log pipelines, integrating industry-standard techniques into their processes to effectively grade high-quality footage. Students will also develop a strong grasp of color theory, examining how hue, contrast, and saturation influence mood, atmosphere, and narrative tone. Students will be introduced to nodal structures within DaVinci Resolve, enabling precise color balancing, unique visual styles, and non-destructive, reusable approaches. They will also apply advanced visual effects using Fusion like 3D motion graphic animation, 3D particle effects, and VR set extension. Working with provided professional footage, participants gain experience in compositing, layering effects, and seamlessly integrating visual elements. By the end of the course, students will have cultivated a comprehensive skill set in color grading and visual effects, equipping them with the confidence to elevate their own creative projects. While completion of Digital Editing: Art and Technology is strongly recommended for foundational knowledge, it is not a prerequisite. Students must bring their own external solid-state drive (SSD) to ensure efficient workflow during class sessions.
