The essence of making images is capturing light, and knowing how to control lighting. This intensive workshop is packed with information to demystify concepts of lighting and to learn the tricks of the trade for image-makers wishing to produce high quality material on a low budget. Beginning with fundamental theories and concepts of light, participants will learn in a practical hands-on environment how to maximize results for natural /available light, utilize techniques for controlled lighting (including mechanisms for sculpting light), and become skilled at 3-point and 4-point lighting set-ups using low-cost portable light kits. This 1-credit Tech Workshop takes place over three consecutive Saturdays, with hands-on homework assignments during the intervening weeks.
