This intensive workshop with an industry veteran explores creative strategies for getting your film and media projects made. It considers pre-production skills from finding projects that are worth your efforts, to thinking through the funding opportunities for different types of projects. It also covers production strategies for putting together your production team, scheduling your shoots and budgeting your funds, and how to follow through with the challenges of post-production and marketing your project. Students will learn real-world tips, skills and strategies to make their production process as creative as their ideas.

This course is open to MA in Media Studies, MS and graduate certificate in Media Management, and Documentary Studies Certificate students only. All other graduate students may request permission three (3) weeks before the start of the course by emailing mediastudiesadvising@newschool.edu.
