This course provides the skills for creating successful podcasts. Through an examination of exemplary podcasts, the various genres and styles of podcasts, and how professional podcasts are currently being produced, students will be encouraged to develop their own original podcast ideas, and learn to pitch them. Students will also learn practical skills in conducting interviews, scripting, use of archival material, and recording and editing audio so they can produce their own content. Finally, students will explore podcast distribution through digital channels and platforms, marketing and promotion, and how to grow an audience for their podcast.
