This course explores the purpose and experience of leadership at the individual, team, and organizational levels and demystifies it. It introduces the concept, practice, and measurement of emotional intelligence, and helps students develop the self-awareness and resilience needed to contribute and succeed in a rapidly changing society. We will consider leaders' roles in shaping their groups' goals, norms, and strategies to promote improvement and justice in their spheres of influence. Course materials include readings and digital media. Teaching methods are based in experience, including self-assessment, reflection, and team-based activities with opportunities for immediate application.
