Situation Analysis
Spring 2024
Taught By: Mindy Fullilove
Section: A

CRN: 14347

Credits: 3

Situation analysis is a multi-method research tool for assessing “complex interpersonal episodes in their embedding context.” It is a research method widely used in business, public health, and policy analysis. In this course, we will use the South Korean art form of “situation story” to understand how to conduct a situation analysis. The critically acclaimed international success, “Crash Landing on You,” will be explored through analysis of all aspects of the situation, as well as identifying the archetypal story it depicts. This course will be fun and useful for students in urban studies, policy analysis, international affairs, and media studies, who are interested in learning additional research methods and design, which can be applied to their own public policy-related questions and projects.
