Buildings and cities embody complex and conflicting histories. This course is global, diverse and interdisciplinary, investigating Histories of Architecture along a spine of carefully selected historical moments, with lateral case study comparisons that span geographies and cultures. This class also introduces a range of research methods to equip students for historical and design inquiry, including the close reading of buildings, texts and historical contexts.

Open to: Masters Degree in Architecture Majors and Masters Degree in Architecture and Lighing Design Dual Degree Majors Only; Others by permission.
