The Thesis Presentation & Portfolio course is a fundamental partner to the Design Thesis project and runs parallel to it throughout the final semester. The research process should inform how the final collection project could be presented and further suggest a direction for the portfolio development. This is a self-directed project by the students with support from the design lecturers as well as technical support where needed. The students will be encouraged to think of innovative but relevant methods of presenting their work to a professional audience. Their portfolio is their key into to the Professional industry and is crucial to how they represent their own design methodology and vision. The Design Thesis Studio research / design development in addition to previous courses such as Communication, Fashion Presentation and Photography will act as precursors to the language that could be built upon for the Design Presentation and Portfolio. This project must demonstrate rigorous intellectual thinking with a consideration for the most relevant and applicable methods of presentation for the final project. Studio time is organized into one-on-one tutorials/critiques with the design studio instructors on a weekly basis. Invited practitioners/industry will be invited at final review and potentially interspersed throughout the semester as needed, based upon the Design Presentation & Portfolio.
