This course provides students an introduction to diverse lighting techniques and an overview of, dslr cameras, digital workflow, image production, and creative photographic practices. Hands-on demonstrations and in class problem solving will be utilized to give students an understanding of the technical and creative aspects of lighting and camera equipment. Students will engage in technical assignments to light and capture portraits, garments and products/accessories utilizing ambient, continuous, off camera flash and strobe lighting. An introduction to Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop as well as Adobe Mobile Apps round out the curriculum providing the basic tools for image making. It is recommended to take Intro to Photography, PSAM 1050, before taking this course.
