Magazines, newspapers, and other periodicals maintain their identity across decades through carefully considered visual and typographic systems. Applying past learning in typography and interaction, this hands-on studio course teaches the principles and contexts of editorial design as it relates to these important cultural forms. Note: this course was previously offered under the title Editorial Concepts. Open to: University undergraduate degree students, sophomores and juniors only. Pre-requisite(s): PUCD 2025 Core 1: Typography Studio, or PSAM 1070 CD Foundations: Typography, or PACD 1100 Core 1: Typography, or (PAGD 1140 Digital Layout + PAGD 1060 Typography 1.).
