Spring 2025
Taught By: Jordin Isip
Section: A

CRN: 11959

Credits: 3

In this course, through weekly and bi-weekly assignments, students will develop a cohesive series of images that showcases a visual vocabulary that is true to the inner personality of the individual artist. Prescribed prompts will be readings or “copy” and may include magazine articles, short stories, book chapters and excerpts, poems, and lyrics. Additional parameters will be imposed for structure and practice: dimensions, deadlines, file specifications, etc. The course is a portfolio builder that includes practice in problem solving, experimentation in concepts, exploration in process, time management, etc. Whether the work is self-motivated or dictated by an outside source with set parameters, it is up to the artist to visually interpret the written word with a personal, unique and compelling response. There will be weekly readings and a minimum of 10 assignments.
