This online course is an opportunity to learn the exciting, hands on, art of screen-printing. Through synchronous and asynchronous support, instruction, and demonstrations, students learn to convert their drawings and designs into screen stencils, and print them both on paper, and apparel (T-shirts, canvass bags). In addition to incorporating screen printing into their own art practice, students will gain an appreciation for the screen-print medium, and its important place in art, design, and culture. This course is open to beginning and advanced students. Please note that there may be costs for materials up to $150 associated with this class. No students will be turned away from the class for an inability to pay this cost.

This online studio is designed to give students a foundation in screen printing. Through synchronous and asynchronous support, instruction and demonstrations, students will learn a wide range of imaging techniques with the ability to print on many different surfaces. Fundamental tools and skill sets will be explored and developed. Online visits to museums, galleries, artist and master printer studios will broaden each student’s development of methodologies and further their insight into the history of print and the relevance of printmaking today. Students will complete this course with a portfolio of original prints. The class is open to beginning and advanced students.
