In this course, you will be introduced to the fundamental practices of photographic studio lighting. Building upon the skills acquired in PSAM 1050 Intro to Photography, you will learn to work safely and effectively within a studio environment using lighting techniques explored through hands-on technical demonstrations, assignments, and critiques. Emphasis is placed on utilizing continuous lighting sources and introductory strobe systems. You will develop proficiency in basic lighting setups, metering techniques, tethered capture, and the use of essential light modifiers for portraiture and still life applications.
