In this course, you will be introduced to the artistic and technical practices of studio lighting. Building on your foundation from PSAM 1050 Intro to Photography, you will learn to work confidently in a studio environment through hands-on demonstrations, technical and creative assignments, and critiques. You will work with continuous lighting sources and introductory strobe systems, shaping light using essential modifiers. With access to the photography studio, you will have space to practice lighting setups, metering techniques, and tethered capture, building skills that translate directly to creative fashion, portrait, and still life photography.

Open to: All university undergraduate degree students. Pre-requisite: PSAM 1050 Intro to Photography.
