Words and letters have great power in meaning when given conceptual form. Students will participate in discussions about the world of typography, and explore traditional as well as alternative means of creating and communicating with giving expressive form to language. Students will do a series of projects that go beyond pre-conceived aesthetic outcomes towards unique, concept-driven forms. Note: this course was previously offered under the title Experimental Typography. Open to: All University undergraduate students. Some seats reserved for Communication Design students.

Pre-requisite(s): PUCD 2130 Core 2: Typography or PSAM 1070 CD Foundations: Typography, or PACD 1100 Core 1: Typography. Some seats have been reserved for BFA Communication Design majors.
