This course explores various printing processes and techniques beyond traditional single-medium approaches. Students are encouraged to combine multiple print methods, such as frottage, monotype, transfer techniques, relief, intaglio, and to experiment with painting, drawing, photographs, fabric, found objects, and digital elements to create eclectic and multi-dimensional artworks. Students will cultivate a dynamic and expressive approach to printmaking in the expanded field through a series of scaffolded projects that integrate both water-based and oil-based processes. An emphasis will be placed on layering, transparency, surface texture, and collage in order to foster a dynamic and expressive approach to printmaking in the expanded field.
