In this Advanced Photo Processes course, you will be learn advanced techniques including color film scanning, retouching, image-editing, editing software, and output methods. Emphasis will be placed on a holistic process from exposure to print. You will create new photographs by mastering the complete post-production workflow. This includes capturing properly exposed RAW files or negatives, executing clean color film scans, and applying advanced, selective digital edits. From there you will create final prints using inkjet and chromogenic printing.You will learn the language of color to express emotion, create mood, and bring psychological weight to the digital print. Emphasis will be placed on refining your own visual language and a cohesive body of work. You will learn and demonstrate consistent workflows and digital techniques. This class offers a hands-on, interactive approach — with shared print production and class critiques — which will enable you to build a final portfolio that is both aesthetically and technically cohesive.
