This course is for students who want to increase their knowledge of the history and experience of the photo book. The photo book has become a medium unto itself, and is redefining photography in reaction to social media. Techniques explored range from the traditionally bound multiple to the unique handmade artist book. Students learn an overview of the history of photography books as well as various techniques used in making artist books. Through these varied methods and functions, student produce a conceptual piece with well executed technique. This is a hands-on making course that will be frequently hosted at the New York Public Library.

Open to: Photo Major and Minor students, Juniors and Seniors only. Some seats have been reserved for Bachelor of Photography majors
