This course is devoted to the exploration of photographic documentary strategies beyond established and traditional approaches. The early part of the course consists of lectures, discussions and research into a broad range of methodologies and their practical applications. Students then work in small groups or as individuals to develop projects investigating a specific subject or topic. Students are encouraged to explore new means of distribution and dissemination of documentary work through guerrilla tactics, social media, printed material, and public interventions. Students are expected to participate in the collaborative nature of the class.

Open to: Photo Major and Minor students, Juniors and Seniors only. Some seats have been reserved for Bachelor of Photography majors.
