This is a course for students interested in working with data in design and research. It introduces the fundamentals of data and information, semi-structured data, unstructured data and databases. Students will explore core concepts and hands-on techniques in data visualization, including acquiring, cleaning, and reshaping information of all kinds. The course also covers data storage and aggregation, working with cloud-based computing platforms. While no previous coding experience is required, this is a technical course and programming will be the main tool used to engage with data and datasets.
