Intro to Dig Prod Design UI/UX
Parsons School of Design: School of Art, Media, and Tech
CRN: 17919
Credits: 3
Students will learn how digital products are designed and built, including software, web and mobile apps, AR/VR experiences, voice interfaces, and wearables. They will explore how digital products are created by analyzing the interfaces, features, and visual systems of contemporary and historical precedents, to develop an understanding of the design process behind successful products. Students will develop and practice an evolving set of core product design skills in this emergent field, including rapid iteration, user research and interviews, prototype testing, mapping user flows and systems, and crafting detailed designs using industry-standard tools (such as Figma, AI agents, etc). Students will also build on their existing understanding of code, exploring new languages, methods, and agentic AI tools as applied to digital prototyping. By the end of the course, students will bring these skills together to design original product ideas, taking them from early concepts through to refined final designs.
