This course provides students with training on the preparation of grant applications. Using The New School Student Research Awards (SRA) as our classroom, students will explore developing or implementing a research project in creative practice. Topics will include the stages and methodology of project development, articulating outcomes and potential for broader impact, planning a feasible time frame for the project, identifying a mentor/s, and budget planning. The class will look at examples of successful applications and meet successful recipients during class visits. Students will be supported to complete an application for the SRA. We will also look at other TNS Student grant opportunities and external grant opportunities reflective of the students area of interest.
